3 Useful Tips to Help You Pick the Right Paving Stone

The entire look of your outdoor décor to a large extent depends on the paving stones you use. But it all depends on how you pick your paving stone… Clueless how to get started? Well, here are some tips to help you out -

Pick Up Samples: This may sound impractical, but actually it can be done. All you have to do is ask the companies that you visit for a sample. Most companies will gladly oblige. Take the samples and place them in your driveway/garden/patio/wherever you need to use the pavement stones.



Now it is easier to judge if the stone you picked will go well with the paint of the house, the gate colour/style, the furniture in the garden etc. This will sure narrow down your choices. Make sure you spill some water to see how it looks. A lot of stones change colours dramatically when they’re wet; do make sure the wet and the dry colour goes well.

Textured or Smooth? : If you want something Allt i sten, then riven stone is the pick for you; since they are usually cheaper. But make sure you pick something with a good tone. If you want a contemporary and slick look, you should pick a stone with a sawn finish with sharp edges. Smooth stones require to be sealed, which changes the colour, so ask the company for a sample of the sealed stone.

Concrete or Natural? : Concrete stones usually are way cheaper and more durable, so for a rough used pavement use Billig marksten. But they do chip easily so make sure during the laying that all the stones have smooth edges. Natural stones have a charm that is incomparable. Make sure your use is in line with the maintenance when picking them.
